Ive just stumbled onto the key fob operated electric folding mirror idea at
NewMiniStuff and realized that it is the must have item for my 2006 Cooper S.

I am wondering though if anyone has had any luck installing it themselves. It would be a bit of a trip for the mini to get it installed at the shop in Merseyside. Also what original equipment would my mini need for this system to work. I do not have the factory alarm and don't believe that I have electric folding mirrors at this point. Is this system compatible? Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the link, not sure why I did not see that guide when looking around. I will have to give myself a serious pep talk before taking this task on.
