4 spotlights not recommended?

Traded in my Cooper for a 'previously loved' S which just happened to have 4 spotlights fitted - however, only the 2 outer ones work, the inner 2 have been disconnected. When I queried this with the dealer they said it would invalidate the warranty to have them all connected as MINI only recommend 1 set.....
He had a fresh MOT when I picked him up but I thought if extra lights were fitted, they all had to work?
Does anyone have 4 spotlights wired up and have you encountered any problems with use or dealers?

PS, have changed the bonnet stripes for vipers!

That's pretty much rubbish.

The reason given for not having four extra lights (and there is/was a reason given), fitted by dealers is due to airflow/engine cooling being compromised. If you search on here I'm sure you'll find a few threads on it, it was a hot topic for a while when it suddenly became an issue, apparently out of the blue.

Yes, and I know for a fact that Aston was told by HIS dealer that he couldn't have spots fitted to his new MINI OneD in 2005 because it would restrict air-flow to the intercooler. Yet MY dealer has fitted them to two of my new OneD's........ Get 'em plugged in!!!!!!!

I have got an aftermarket set on from MiniSport. My car has been in for it's regular service and there was no problem at all. They said it did nothing to the warranty.

I'm sure I've read on MINI2 about somebody seriously melting their car by incorrectly wiring spots. Could happen anyway, not just beacuse you're fitting 4 of 'em though!
