Thumbs down Chrome side indicator bulbs NOT recommended

Just bought a set of chrome indicator bulbs for my new white indicator lenses on the side of my car to get rid of the orange. They work but are no where near as bright as they should be.

For all those out there thinking about changing these bulbs, I would recommend sticking to the orange bulbs supplies as they are hardly noticeable and less likey to cause visibility problems.

Strange, but mine seem as bright as the orange ones I replaced.

I think the question is what manufacturer did you get and where did you get them from? I find they are actually brighter than the orange bulbs.

It was acceptable in the 80's

I got osram or philips silvertec ones and they are great...no issues at all. Look pretty much silver when off and nice bright orange when light up

The Philips Silvervision bulbs work very well on my front indicators - alot brighter than standard orange ones and look much better when not on

What brand did you get?

They are silvatec!

And these are the side indicator bulbs right?

This is because my front Silvatec indicators are alot brighter than than the original orange bulbs.

I bought mine off Ebay and are not E approved or whatever it is and are not as bright (Always buy Known brands like Philips et or Osram)
I'm going to replace mine pretty soon with the above mentioned.

The bulbs off ebay were only £2 plus postage though!

I got the Solaris diamond coat (brighter than mirror coat but slightly more visible) here

Bimmian Solaris Invisi-bulbs - made especially for BMW MN.

They're almost as bright as stock.

Trust me when I say this but I am not angry!

These are not the bulbs I am talking about! I am talking about the side indicators, the ones on side front side panels!

The main front indicators are also silvatec on my car and yes they are brighter than stock.

Oh crikey the little wedge type bulbs?
I guess less visibility on the side is better than having less visibility on the front!

proceed to this page, the side indicators are the second ones down.

http://www.bimmian.com/elements/prod...s/1.htm?veh=MN

Then on the next page, select the third option for bulb color.

They show the picture of the front style bulbs on most of the pages, but they do have
the small side indicator bulbs.

curbed-them-silly, if you still want the anti-egg look you can replace those side turn signal bulbs with LED's and not have the rapid turn signal flash. The MINI computer must not monitor those sockets for low current draw because I replaced mine with LED's, I had the silver painted ones and they were dim as hell. Just a suggestion.
