Offline | Black auxiliary driving lights??? Need a bit help here ladies and gentlemen. I have a cosmos black cooper and have just added cooper S bumpers and the aero grille. I'm thinking of treating myself some driving/spotlights. Does anyone know of any that are similar to the bmw spotlights but all black plastic (no chrome)? I like the black theme I have going on! Any help would be great! Adam |

| Amiga 500 to PS3 20 Years | If it was me, I'd get the BMW ones as you'd know all the wiring and mounts would be OEM. Then take them to a bodyshop to get them sprayed black. Might even be able to get a secondhand set from 1320 Auto's or something like that. A small spray job like that wouldn't cost too much either. ![]() It was acceptable in the 80's |

Offline | thanks for the input. looking at the size of them i'd probably just have a go paining them myself to be honest but i'm convinced ive seen some on ebay before. i'm not too fussed about oem either in all honesty, rather save a bit cash lol. excuse the lack of capital letters, shift key on keyboard's broken and i'm too lazy to keep putting capslock on/off. |

Offline | Haha! Yeah they are I think its; a software problem that I aint got round to fixing yet! (If any1 has any ideas let me know!!!) Well there are a few WIPAC kits on ebay that come with wiring harnesses etc and I was reading stuff on here about how its easy just to tap into the wire for the main beam and be safe as long as you have a fuse/relay. Just the question of is it worth the hassle? Hmm! |

Offline | Speak to a minimatt about scrap ones. or have a word with LuckyDave at auto-tech-solutionsco.uk about this, he may have a contact. if not then I know he does the SS/Chrome ones and also knows a man who powercoats stuff (far better / durable than spray...will withstand the washing and stones better) |

| MINI2 Regular | I'm going to try these, bit smaller but i like them: 630_Spotlights £34 deliverd for the pair is no disaster is they're not right but i think they could look good, subtle but smart. |

| MINI2 Master | i have been after black myself as once Aero kit is on i think the Chrome looks poo pie. However i am currently speaking to a guy about getting Carbon fibre ones made, may work out not too bad, If so i will be having a load made to sell on ebay etc |

Offline | Can these driving lamps be set up to work with normal beam or side lights?? I fiddled with my fog light bulbs on my Cupra R and modified them with the internals of a side light and then they were legal to have on when i wanted ( no police problems anyway lol ) Or am i just being daft ????? lol |

Offline | In theory you could wire them up with any of the lights in the car. However as far as I know its only legal to use them in conjunction with main beam. If they came on with normal beam or sidelights they would blind everybody! |

Offline | I think you'll fing that they would not have been nessesarly legal, just cos not got diffuse glass and fog bulb in. Theres all sorts of laws to do with hight above and below the line of the headlamps and the road surface that dictates driving light and fog light location. Might be OK on some cars as the lamps are in the possition to be legal but not in all. Spots are not supposed to to be active on dipped beam/side lights (unless they also have a dipped beam somehow), only on full beam headlights if I remember the law from the days of fiting driving lamps/spots and fogs etc etc to my classic Minis |
