England Bubbles under paint work!!

While cleaning my MCS last week i noticed on the front edge of my drivers door some small what looked like rust bubbles. Took the car into Vines of Redhill this morning to see what they had to say, and as normal received great service, spoke to Steve the bodyshop manager who straight away had the car in the workshop to take photo's. He then spoke to the warranty manager who agreed that there was a problem with the door and it was a warranty issue. So next month the car will be booked into bodyshop to have a brand new door fitted,he said as there's rust present in the door they won't repair the original door.
While the car is away i'll also get a courtsey mini.
Has anyone else had a problem with rust issues? My 'S' is a March 2003 car.

Keith,

Saw your MCS in Tescos, Leatherhead the other day... have you added vipers??? Look awesome...

Sorry to hear about your door - awesome that they're doing it under warranty, and that the car is 4 years old.

Hi Jay

No haven't put vipers on,but i have got some Shelby stripes to go on when i get a chance to fit them.
As for the door Mini's have a 6 year paint and bodywork warranty,so still have two years to run on that.

Had exactly the same problem in same place and with the same action taken!!

I bought a Mini (51 Plate - Jan 2002 first registered) from a dealership in february, and I noticed while cleaning it the other day, that there were rust bubbles along the bottom side of the passenger door. Contacted dealership about having it sorted under warrenty, but they immediately said 'we can look at it, but its probably classed as cosmetic', which is absolute rubbish.

I had to drive to a third party body repair place to have it inspected where they agreed it needed to be sorted, and was going to tell the dealership. I then contacted the dealership today, and they tell me that its been inspected and was deciced that its cosmetic so therefore wont be done, I was fuming at this point.

Then asked me to bring it down to the dealership so her manager can decide, which is bizarre as why send me to a bodyshop if they can tell at the dealership whether its a warrenty issue. I then get a call from the bodywork inspection garage saying they are arranging a top bmw paint inspector to look at my car, but could not give a date, but said they would let me know.

I have contacted customer services and now waiting for something to be sorted, I have had really bad experience with my dealership. Has anyone else had similar problems?

I took my door card off and found in the bottom was a puddle of water and no place for it to go! no drain holes, also the wax oil is not sprayed on very well.
