Mini cooper bonnet

Hey peeps.

Just wondering.... I have a mini cooper and want to put an 'S' Bonnet on it as im putting throttle bodies on it next week and the scoop would be an ideal cold air intake.

If you are running a throttle body set up such as a pair of Jenveys and want to draw cold air to them directly from the scoop, you will need to fabricate an air box on the bodies then link to this bonnet - the best way is prob a mating fabrication to the underside of the bonnet scoop (much as the intercooler on an MCS is ducted against the bonnet).

you could see what commercial air boxes are out there to butcher but space will be tight so you will prob end up having to fabricate yourself.

On air boxes for Jenvey or twin-40 type set ups, the filter is normally sits within the airbox inlet - so you need to include this as well.

Also consider........
What ECU are you going to use for your ignition/fuelling - you will need a mapable one to allow you to set up fuelling/ignition on a rolling road. Also, what engine mods is this supporting - throttle bodies & an ECU will see little change from £1600, then at least a morning of rolling road time to set up - and minimal power increase without significant engine mods such as cams & head.
