Spoiler Fitting Costs? Any ideas?

I have a mini one, have some cooper s style 17' alloys on it but now want a spoiler fitted. Nothin too fancy, just summat subtle, like the one on bmw mini website,

So have any of you guys had a spoiler done painted, fitted by bmw and how much did it totally cost?

Or do any of you know somewhere i can get it done reliably, a good job, cheaper than bmw????

cheers guys

Somewere to get it done depends on were you are from?

A spoiler is quiet easy to fit depending on what is on your car at the moment have you got the cooper chilli pack spoiler or nothing at all?

If you have nothing at all then 2 holes will be required so you need to drill them, painting wise and anything like that id personally never go to BMW id always locate a local shop fit for the job to keep the costs down!

not sure how much the dealers charge, but I've been looking at S style spoilers.

Have a look here - ebay link

I had the aero kit spoiler fitted to my MINI One a few years ago and it looked absolutely brilliant! No need for screws or bolts the spoiler just glued on. I had BMW do that for me. The spoiler came from the factory already sprayed this way its cheaper but takes longer. £255 for the spoiler and I had the chrome tail pipe £20 fitted at the same time. I can't remember what the final cost was but I know it wasn't more than £340 all in.

Want a pic of the aero spoiler on my car?

The Aero Spoiler for my old Cooper cost me £150, ready painted, from a BMW main dealer and it took me half an evening to glue into position and about another 24 hours for the glue to set.

The Aero Spoiler is a better spoiler and doesn't involve drilling any holes in your tailgate.

Tigger.

I agree with you there Tigger! Aero spoiler is the same size as the Cooper S spoiler but it doesn't have the hole through the middle. Looks really great and finishes the look of your MINI.

If you want more pics just let me know.

The reason I went for the aero spoiler is that there was no drilling involved. All the other MINI spoilers require bolts to hold them on through the hatch. I just didn't like the idea of holes being drilled.

Good luck with your search!

like everything on ebay its a calculated risk unless you've either seen it first or trust the seller. I'm stil dithering myself over whether to take the plunge or not with it.

If you get the dealer to supply the glue as well (it looks like black toothpaste!) it's stronger than you would ever believe!! There are no worries of it ever coming loose!

Wish I still had it, much better than the standard S spoiler on my R53 Cooper S; it even used to help keep the back window clean, whereas the S spoiler does absolutely naff all!

Treat the eBay spoilers with care, I have reason to believe that the shape isn't quite right and it may leave gaps between the body and the spoiler. The BMW item is a quality part.

Before the dealer orders it in white and charges you to spray it, look in the parts catalogue as they certainly used to be able to order many of the different colours at no extra cost. I even had to point this fact out to my local dealer when they said they would need to charge me to spray it!

If you let me know what roof colour you have, I might be able to give you the part number to quote BMW as I still have the price list for them!

Got to agree with you, I Love MINI, Laura, it's a nice looking spoiler!

Tigger.

I had the Cooper chilli pack spoiler on my mini. I have replaced it with the JCW spoiler. My local body shop only charged £85 for removing the old one and fitting the JCW spoiler.
