Offline | Hi james, Definitely worth having a go yourself... see the FAQ here: http://www.mini2.com/forum/faq.php?f...faq_sideskirts You can buy a new set of clips from your dealer for next to nothing! Hope that helps... Jon ![]() |

Offline | Easy mod have a go yourself. I enjoyed doing this mod. Just feel confident when you rip your old ones off your MINI because it is quite scary with the noise and the force to remove them! Still quite satisfying though. My mum was v worried when I did that bit! Make sure you have the replacement clips ready to go on though as you really need them! Make sure you remove all the bits of the old clips from the metal body as these can get trapped and rattle. Good luck! No need to pay the £60. |

Offline | This job is pretty easy, even for the none technical owner. Check out the link Paul has put up and make sure you have a full set of clips number 6 & 7, as these are the single use clips you will hear breaking as you pull the skirts off. I also used new expanding rivets (number 9) throughout when putting the new skirts on. The old ones get clogged up with muck so you will destroy a few as you take them off, think about 50% got ruined as they had been on my car 3 yrs before taking them off. Before undoing the expanding rivets give them a good soaking of WD40 (a few times) and let it soak in properly. Others may have something better for releasing the rivets. Oh and be very careful taking your sill strips off as they tend to crease if you're not. Be a good excuse to get some JCW ones though, about £35. ![]() MODERN MINI - BEST COOPER NOMINEE - PLEASE VOTE FOR ME!!! |

Offline | Definitely do the job yourself - its easy but be careful!! I was using a break away blade stanley knife to cut through the adhesive that holds on the sill plates and as i got to the end I hit a tough part so added a small bit of pressure on the blade which broke and went straight into my finger. I had to get stiches but I still cleaned the blood off the car before I left! ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | do it urself! don't spend ages trying to get the sill strips off the bumper though, just pull off the entire bumber and get some new strips or sticker strips off ebay. its really quick, just get round your local bmw dealership and pick up some extra clips and pop screws because theres always a few that will snap, the clips snap when you rip off the old bumper anyways! good luck! |

Offline | Its simple...just be brutal in removing the old ones ... its a bit of a wince moment but it really is a matter of just yanking them off once the main clips are out ![]() A bag of the clips is a couple of £ only .... if that... from memory |
