How do you uncrease bonnet stripes?

Hi guys. Bought some nice silver bonnet stripes off some dude a while back on eBay but the fool sent them creased then blamed me for causing damage and left me negative feedback!!
Anyway, how do you uncrease them? I've heard you can put some material over them then iron as normal? And also what is the best way to stick them on, I hear it's to clean your bonnet, then pour lots of water on and just play with the stripes till they're in place then they'll stick?

Cheers, Sam

If you add a little washing up liquid to the water it helps you to get the stripes into the right position.

and it also helps to break down the adhesive too

Thats why proper fitters do it dry

What you need is a Garden Vaporizer sprayer, some warm water and a dash of Fairy Liquid.
Spray the the area with this solution and providing the bonnet and water are warm you should get most if not all creases out.
You need to buy a "Squeegee", a small plastic spatula, one side kind of fealty and the other side sharp. I guess you can get these from Livery specialists for a small fee.

Make sure the area is wet then you can get the position you need, do this by placing the stripe on the bonnet then stand back to see how true it looks.

Run the "Squeegee" over the stripes dispelling all the water and soap once in place.

Make sure before you do all this, that the area is Extremely clean free from any grit, tiny bubbles caused by these are a pain in the A*rse and are never recoverable.

Use a sharp Stanley knife blade to cut off any excess, and for gods sake don't get the blade near the paintwork

Give that geezer on ebay the finger from me too

i would of thought gently heat them up with a hair dryer or the like and then leave a large heavy object on them for a while to flatten them off
