| Kaptain Krutaroo | Recalcitrant hatch closure when opening with remote key I used the key to pop open the rear hatch. When I went to close it (to no avail) it refused to latch and stay shut. After closing it (and pushing down on the hatch) it still didn't close. Finally after trying multiple times, I released the rear hatch release above the license tag heard a <<click>> and it latched. To my dismay, in my efforts to get my hatch closed, I dented my hatch with the palm of my hand. Has anyone else experienced this? Looks like I'll be getting Dent Wizard to take out my dent. :-( Kaptain Krutaroo - Kurt Collins - Washington, DC #8 2009 MINI JCW CR/B |

Offline | This problem has been widely reported for several months. I was told by my service department that MINI is working on a solution. Until then, avoid using the remote for opening the hatch. |

Offline | I also had same problem in the first week. I locked and unlocked the car with key in door a couple times and then closed the boot while holding the latch button depressed. That did the trick. I have had no problem since and always use the key remote to open. I worried about denting the chrome handle -or breaking it off and now push on the license plate to close boot. Works well and keeps fingerprints off the chrome. |

Offline | Remote hatch opening WHY bother using the remote hatch, its not as if it opens the bloody thing it just unlatches the lock. If you ask me it looks like it works by accident rather design. The noise it makes is awfull, mine too did not close, wont be needing it anyway. The remote opening of windows and sunroof. WHY??? Cars ok otherwise. MMCT |
