I've just finished the reverse, fitted pre-face lift lights to a post facelift car, purely as I wanted aftermarket versions that were never made in the post facelift. It's an easy enough process, the wiring will need to be slightly modified, and you will need new bulb holders to suit the new lights.

Facelift lights are a direct swap in all but wiring, you can either do this yourself (there are instructions on here, I even did this with a previous MCS of mine) or you can actually get an adaptor from BMW as they also offer a retrofit to the later light style.

Nope, but I imagine RealOEM.com Online BMW Parts Catalog will have part numbers so you can call and find out.

I was the first to do this mod on here ! (early 11/04) There's some interesting information for you on the original thread:

http://www.mini2.com/forum/exterior/...il-lights.html

The entire kit (tail lights and adapter) was £105 at the time from Westerly's in Exeter.

Tigger.

PS: I added the facelift headlamps soon afterwards. They came to around £200 for the pair and they just dropped straight in.
