Electrical faults

We have a 54 plate Cooper - nice car but one problem that won't go away. Both windows won't go back to full closure leaving a gap of about 1" at the top. Sufficient on driver's side to push finger in. Anyone else get the same issue?

Dealer not the most useful I have encountered.

First, try an electronic reset:
Open the door, click the window down, the click and hold back up - keep held for 10s after window stops.

If that doesn't work, I'd say it would have to be some sort of mechanical failure, mis-alignment ...
