Cooper with chrome side grills?

have any Cooper owners replaced the black plastic side grill near the turn signal repeater with chrome bits? do you have any pictures online of your MINI?

example:

i'm considering the grills without the "S" on them.

They definitely look great. It might to take a while to get them as they were on backorder when I ordered them about a month and a half ago.

They are on massive backorder from Moss as Mini is now running low on these parts, etc.

We should have them in stock in a couple more weeks.

Stay tuned for a custom side vent that we are working on as well.

Hey Damo,

Where do you get those flags again? Am I right that you bought 3 sets that were the same, and used one as it was intended (on the back), and the two others on the vents? Was it hard to attach to the side vents?

Thanks!

Thanks!

I bought 3 badges, 2 of one size 1 of another.

The Grill badges from your local MG dealer ar about £10.50 EACH. Monsta got them for me from a Mini show for £5 each. (£10.50 as he added 50p for P&P) THese badges are what is normally found on the back of the MG Z cars under the model badge.

The Rear Badge is a larger badge that is usually found on the frong wings of the new MG TF. Now AV51HCC told me about these, so went to my local MG dealer in Chorley, said never heard of 'em till I took him outside to show him one on the forecourt. Anyway he said he'd find out. So I rang a dealer in Bolton and he knew what I ment and got me one ordered. Anyway that was about £17. Have to say if I could afforded £17 per badge I'd of re-done the side grills with the bigger ones.

Anyway I originally planned to buy some side grills (£16 per pair) then stick the badges on, that way if they turned out crap my car would be fine. But got impatient and couldn't wait for the grills to come so day before I did it thinking if it turns out horrid I'll have 2 new grills to fit day after.

To fit them I just got my pocket knife to cut some grooves into the slats of the grill so that the badge could fit flush with the grill. With the knife not being able to create the smoothest of surfaces for the normal badge adhesive to work and it being a relative small area I decided to get some Araldite to glue them on with that way could makea better area for it to stick on.

So thats what I did. Anyway I was very happy with the results so Rang my local BMW Parts Depo and cancelled the grills saving me £16.00

Cool! Thanks for the write-up! Now if I can just find a local MG dealer -- ha ha! Then I'd be fine. But I swear I saw those badges on one of the Mini accessory web-sites . . .

Of course, being an American, I was hoping to get one with our flag, but now I see that that would be a huge stretch. I'll work on something fun . . .
