Should my rear wiper come on when reverse is selected when the front wipers are on?

ive got an 03 ONE and i have to flick the switch every time i reverse, quite annoying

is there a problem with my car or do they all do that

any light shed on this would help

I was surprised when i got my MINI that it doesn't do this, mainly because my mum's old 1998 Rover 200 did it

Come on MINI, get with the times

its one of the few things I miss having from other cars and surprising that MINI didn't fit one

wonder how hard it would be to do?

i never thought that going from a rover 25 to a MINI would be a drop in such things
