Offline | Side indicators Just bought our Cooper and one thing I've always hated about them is the look of the side indicators - in black plastic with Orange lenses. I'd like the Cooper S look, without a Cooper S badge as I don't want to try and make my car something it isn't. So I'm looking for something shiny, with clear lenses I've seen a couple of things on t'internet, but am unsure how to go about getting hold of something nice. (The flame ones for example, don't really appeal). I wondered if anyone else has done this, how much it cost them and what the final look was like. Oh, and how easy it was to do. Any info gratefully received. Thanks in advance. Kell ![]() 2004 Mini Cooper Big Grin |

Offline | If you only want to replace the orange lenses with white lenses, I recommend getting the factory ones from your dealer. Mikey also carries them: http://www.newministuff.com/new/shop...uctshow&id=101 The aftermarket versions are far inferior quality. |

Offline | Now - those I really like the look of. I'd rather change both the lenses and the grille, but I think even just doing the lenses would help. ![]() 2004 Mini Cooper Big Grin |

Offline | Hi Mikey - any plans to market the chrome slatted versions? I'm not a massive fan of the shark gill ones and the Moss versions (plus lights) are going to work out at over £100. That's a lot of beer vouchers. ![]() 2004 Mini Cooper Big Grin |

Offline | Looking at the Cooper S ones form behind it looks like the red S is just held on with a push fit clip. Could you not buy chrome S side vents (ebay new and used from around £30 a pair) and remove the S badge? |

Offline | Thats what I thought too when I went for the chrome side repeaters for my old One. I went for the plastic shark grille ones and though I liked the look they were cheap plastic with chrome effect and one of the retaining clips broke as I first inserted it so I had to use sticky pads to hold it in which didn't always work. Just my luck! Rubbish. Its a false economy to go for the cheaper plastic ones as these were £40 anyway. I much prefer the Moss MINI ones above. And If I was to do it again I would go for them as they much improve the look of the sides. Some have chromed their original sets? Don't know how much that would be? ![]() |

Offline | Something to ponder. But maybe we will fork out for the metal versions. Mentioned it to SWMBO and she didn't seem fazed by the price. Planning to get chromed mirrors too, so it should all match nicely. ![]() 2004 Mini Cooper Big Grin |

Offline | Another possibility see thread below.......... using the chrome "S" vents but only removing the red vinyl insert from the S badge so it is also chrome and so more subtle for use on a Cooper or One. ![]() http://www.mini2.com/forum/mini-one/...rills-one.html |

Offline | Cheers for that. I was going to look at my next door neighbour's Mini, but she's got an R56 Cooper S and the grilles are a different shape. My wife isn't too bothered by them, but the black/orange combo really offends me for some reason. ![]() ![]() 2004 Mini Cooper Big Grin |

Offline | The S does come off but it leaves an S shaped hole in the vent so thats a no goer, why not get the clear lenses and spray the ones you have to match your body colour , thats what i did with mine. |
