Offline | MCS 2003 front bumper. Hi, very new to this forum but have been reading a lot of helful tips from you guys having just purchased my first mini. My car is a Cooper S 2003 and the front bumper has had its fair share of parking scuffs. I've seen a good replacement advertised but its off a gen 1 2006 facelift Cooper S. Simple question is there any diff and will it fit ? Sorry if this has been covered before. If it has can someone put me in the right direction. Cheers ![]() |

Offline | Unlike the Cooper and One, the front bumper of the S was (thankfully) hardly touched by the facelift. The only difference will be that the lower grille (which is part of the front bumper) will have a smooth finish, rather than the groved finish on your original one. It shouldn't be too difficult to swap the this from one bumper to the other, other than that the bumper will be a straight swap. You only have to be aware that many of the colours weren't carried over in the facelift. What colour is yours? Tigger. |

Offline | Thks Tigger, My 2003 is Dark silver and the bumper im looking at is 2006 dark silver, hope this is the same colour? The grills probably wont be a problem as im thinking of replacing for Aero grill either BMW or Lohen. The most damage on my original is the bumper its self and the black plastic trim below the bumper. I guess kind of a splitter. Providing this, fittings and the colour are the same i'll go ahead and make a purchase. B rgds, Mark ![]() |

Online | Yes that'll fit - and they're very easy to swap over. Two nuts to undo - located on the far left and right of the bumper on the top surface, access is from underneath in the wheel arch - these are either 8mm or 10mm - I can't remember off the top of my head! Then one torx nut either side of the radiator, and lots of torx screws along the bottom line of the bumper on the black plastic ![]() When you put the new one on, only half tighten all the fixings, then drop the bonnet down, line up the bumper so you're happy with the gaps, then tighten them all up ![]() Jon ![]() |
