| The Fast Lane | Does a Strutbrace really make a difference? Just thinking about Strutbraces!!!! Do they actually make a difference to the handling of the car? I've seen that there are 3 available, the engine (Front upper), Front lower and rear, what are the differences between them all? I was thinking about the engine (front upper) brace, but again I'm not sure which one to go for. The one I like is the Forge brace, does anyone have any pictures of it? and I've seen it priced at £126 is this reasonable? ![]() UNION JACK OWNERS CLUB: GB033 |

Offline | As long as the brace is substantial enough (many are purely cosmetic) it WILL make a significant difference. For ones that are known to work, check out the GT Tuning website: GT TUNING PERFORMANCE Brakes/Suspensions etc They do improve the handling and they do massively decrease any squeaks and rattles in the car. There are 4 available: top brace, front and mid bottom braces and a boot brace. All are good. Tigger, |

Offline | Here's a picture for you. Please check the width of the cross brace and also check the way the cross brace is simply bolted (as opposed to seam welded) to the plates that attach to the suspension turrets. Now compare this to the GT Tuning item and make your own mind up! ![]() |

Offline | And here's the OMP one ![]() The GT Tuning top brace is as expensive as it is good If funds don't run to it (and you are looking for genuine handling improvements, rather than just pose value), I'd suggest getting the much cheaper (and equaly effective) bottom braces from GT Tuning. Only you will know they are there (no pose value here ), but they will significantly improve the handling of the car You can then add the top one as funds allow....Tigger. |

| The Fast Lane | Saw the GTT one on Snowies GP at Himley Hall yesterday. Have to agree it is a beautiful piece. Looks really strong and is machined to a work of art. Unfortunately, my budget wouldn't stretch that far...! So I bought the Forge one. I think this looks good. I'll get some photos when I get home and post them tomorrow. Only thing is, it is tight on the sound proofing under the engine. I presume that this will change once it makes it's own imprint. ![]() UNION JACK OWNERS CLUB: GB033 |

Offline | If budget is tight then do it in stages GTT Top brace is the best by far and well worth the extra cash. You get what you pay for. Talk to MiniCabrio he was really impressed with the GTT ones within 200 metres of leaving Roland's premises and flinging Minx MK 1 around a couple of corners and a roundabout. After Himley Hall I am sure that Roland will be getting a few orders - I need to be on commission ![]() ![]() ![]() In Italy |
