Zymol Mini Wax

Zymol has announced a wax/glaze kit supposedly specifically formulated for Mini (by color, too). See it at: http://www.zymol.com/mini.htm

Is this a scam or is it a good idea? What are other folks experience with Zymol?

All the MINI owners who attended EuroFest 2002 got a free kit from Zymol. We haven't tried it yet, but the weather has been bad here.

Kidding. Above 40º it works OK though.

The wax may work above 40º, but the hubby doesn't!

Zymol MINI Wax

Interesting. I've got a Z3 in addition to my MCS and Zymol makes a special Z3 branded wax supposedly designed for the Z3's water based paint. Is the MINI's paint water based as well? (yuk, yuk)

FYI, my experience with Zymol on the Z3 was terrific. The HD Cleanse smoothed the surface beautifully, and putting on wax with your bare hands is, well ... let's just say it feels good.

I know, I know ... I need a life.

While I haven't tried the exact product you posted, I do use Zymöl. I give it a qualified thumbs up (easy application, good finish, and a milder smell than most waxes, but offset by a little bit too much residue for my liking).

AprilWhine - Did you see the EuroFest print behind the Zymol product? I'd like to get a copy - do you know where they're selling them? At the Zentrum, perhaps?

I don't know where to buy the Eurofest print. I went to the web site, but there is nothing for sale there.

Tom, thanks for the pointer!

I was all ready to order at the "special introductory" price of $29.95, but when I went to checkout it was $60!

I guess I'll stick with NuFinish...

I got it all straightened out through e-mail with a very nice lady from their customer service department. Apparently the Electric Blue kit was not priced correctly online. I was assured that my order total would be corrected and the $29.95 price would be billed, not the $60.

Is there really a difference in the product from one color to the next, or is the color selection just determine the color of the little bag it comes in?

Went by the Zentrum over the holidays (My parents live in nearby Greenville), and no print for sale there either Although they were selling the MINI plush toy and the MINI RC car.

MINI Print

Chiph

I believe it was the Greenville chapter of the American Red Cross that was selling the print. I also stopped and looked at it. I wish I had bought one. Their phone number in Greenville is 864-271-8222.

Thanks for the info!

I'll call them Monday - they're probably busy over the weekend running shelters for those people without electricity.

I've used Zymol for years on my Minivan and my old LeBaron. For ease of use and a good shine and good protection, it's great.
Definitely need to build up 2-3 coats quickly to get good durability though. It's a natural Carnauba so it doesn't last as long as a synthetic but for the money I like it.
On this site I'm rare since I seem to be the only one that uses Liquid Glass.

obehave,

I have been using liquid glass for a long time. Great finish, excellent protection. My father prepared a number of concourse winning cars and he used Liquid Glass. Good Stuff.
