I just got a response from Thule where I had written them earlier asking about a rack. At that (earlier) point, they had said they were researching it and would let me when one became available. Here is the new (disappointing) status:

Unfortunately after extensive testing Thule has not been able to create a multipurpose application for this vehicle. The main reason for this is the weakness of the material making up the outer edges of the vehicle's door panel. Their is a factory roof rack application that can be custom mounted to the vehicle's roof. This can be installed at the dealer where you purchased you vehicle. Once installed you will have the ability to mount Thule factory-direct product directly to this rack system. If you are just looking to carry bicycles, Thule has an excellent solution for the rear hatch of the vehicle. It is called the 965 Backpack carrier. Let me guess. Everyone who inquired has read that already.

Just a guess

Said it once aleready somewhere:
Does this mean Thule can't do wat Yakima does, or that Thule WON'T do what yakima SHOULDN'T?

I would think that if Yakima could do it, then Thule could too. I suppose Yakima either has better engineers, or better lawyers

Maybe they don't think there will be enough of a demand considering the factory installed roof rack option...
