OK, The wife has had a disagreement with a tow-bar on a Ford Galaxy. Result is that the Chrome Rear Bumper insert is damaged and needs replacing.

Has anyone replaced the insert, can it be done simply or will I need to get the BMW garage to do it. The price for the part alone is £30 +vat, then there would be labour on top of that.

Depends on how you define simple - You'll need to take the bumper of and carefully remove the 'glue' that holds the inserts in place - Nothing really difficult but time consuming and a pain - I bet in future versions you'll see them clipping on from the outside

Suspect BMW will charge 1 - 1.5 hours labour

Now gone (but not forgotten)
