Offline | Suits you Sir! - in GOLD! When I first walked into a Mini dealer some 18 months ago I told the salesperson I already knew what colour I wanted. She replied "What Silver or Black???" ( I am in my 40's and was wearing a suit, this was a London dealer and I am a bloke so I guess she thought Silver or Black was the only option ) - Strange that I was thinking BRG/White roof. My dealer said that come march Mini ONE will be available in GOLD ( hard to imagine as I equate Gold with 1975 Nissans ) - However I do like the Metalic Burgundy that only the ONE gets - I might have had that in preference to BRG for my S. PS Saw George Best in Putney the other day - numberplate G8 EST - He was driving a Cooper Silver/Black Roof ( This was about two weeks before his liver operation. To all our non Brit readers Georgr is probally one of the best footballers ( you say soccer ) of all time - and he drives MINI! |

Offline | Re: Suits you Sir! - in GOLD! I think your dealer (or somewhere) may have fed you some duff information. The Velvet Red (burgandy colour) is for the Cooper and One, but not the 'S' (as far as I know). Also, Gold will NOT be exclusive to the MINI One, and it will be in place of Silk Green. I'm not sure if gold will be on the S, because silk green (which it's replacing) isn't, but I've not heard that it wont be. |

Offline | Thanks for that Paul - dealer was confused but knew that Gold would not be an S colour - ties up with what you say. Can't say that Silk Green will be much missed - I always thought it was the weakest colour in the lineup - but Icant understand why we dont see more Velvet Reds - its a great colour ( thinks I ) |

Offline | One of the joys of MINI owning. Dealers who are sometimes not exactly on the ball (shall we say). But hey, it's only the job they're paid to do, can't expect them to know everything about the 3 cars in the range they have to sell can we?! Glad they don't sell Fords, now that would get confusing, all those model names and numbers, different colours...... ![]() |

| Loves the Fuzzy One | On the Kelly Blue Book web site, you can configure a 2003 MINI in gold, available in March 03. But they say that gold is not available for the S. ![]() Global Moderator |
