Offline | Aero Kit won't fit my Cooper Help, the front apron of the aero kit won’t fit my Cooper. I am having the aero kit retrofitted to my 2003 IB Cooper that arrived on the 31 March. The dealership has never done one of these before, so it is also new to the company that they have got to do the painting and fitting. The auto body company is very professional in what they do, but have a problem with the aero kit front apron. The front rebar on the Mini is too large for the molding to fit properly. Also, the fog light holes in the new front apron are in a different position, and it appears that something should be connected along the bottom of the front apron because there are about 4 small holes. Has anyone else had this problem with their aerodynamic package installation or were we sent the Cooper S package by mistake? I shall have to wait until Monday to find out from BMW what happens next. I am also getting the alarm installed. This will be another first for the dealership, so that could be another adventure. |

| MINI2 Master / Moderator | I thought MC and MCS use the same body kit. I got my kit installed on my MCS at the dealer. They did a good job, if you want me to can take some close up picture of the front aero kit for you, may be you can show to the dealer. May be that will help. Let me know I can take some picture tomorrow morning ![]() |

| MINI2 Newbie | Hi, have you downloaded the oem fitting guide? When i had my areokit fitted the bodyshop found it useful. I also remember them saying that had to change the way the fog lights mount, irc there are marks where they had to drill and then screw. HTH Lewis |

Offline | Thank you for all your advice and suggestions. I shall definitely let them know on Monday that it is probably a Cooper S aero apron they have painted. dinlo, the great pictures you have in your gallery help me determine that it was a Cooper S front apron. I too will be getting the black wheel surrounds painted body colored. I have also downloaded the installation instructions to show the body shop what to do about the fog light positioning. It would be nice if BMW included installations instructions when they send their Kits. Hopefully there won’t be any more problems, but stay tuned for the latest on the Aero Kit saga. |
