I know for a fact that Candy Blue will be an available colour. How do I know? It was in the MINI literature I picked up at my dealer a month or so ago. It listed Solid Gold and Candy Blue. The literature was since thrown out.

I will wait for an Orange Cooper if I know it's coming out.

I seem to remember "candy blue" being talked about some time ago. Wasn't it the American name for Electric Blue at one time?

A long time ago I posted MINI USA's original names for the colors ... but that post seems to have disappeared.
Code:

Electric Blue ..... Iceberg
Solid Gold ........ Jackpot
Silk Green ........ Oasis
Velvet Red ........ Burnin' Rootbeer
Pure Silver ....... Coin
Dark Silver ....... Haze
Pepper White ...... Nougat

Argggggh ... my memory fails me

I wouldn't take that as fact it will appear...

They have had Candy (also Dolomite) Blue listed in different sorts of literature since day one. I've sat in a Candy Blue Cooper, and seen others, but nothing has really indicated it WILL happen, and I've been told it wont.

Wish it would.

Oh god nooooooo! That is a revolting colour, very 1960's.

I dig the Striped one you did in PS, very Ducati Corse (I have the front guard of my Ducati painted the same)

Now we know that's 2001 literature, I think it's safe to say it's probably not a true indication of what's to come. Although as far as Candy Blue goes, I doubt it will arrive any time soon, but live in hope...

Interesting stuff. I'm talking to my dealer tomorrow about rejecting my Velvet Red Cooper. I'd be interested in the metallic orange, but will probably stick with the Velvet Red if I'm successful......

If they do orange, I'd rather it be non-metallic. Metallic orange just sounds too...uhh...flashy? garish? Not the right words, but just doesn't seem right to me.

The only way I know to get a velvet red MCS is to do an after market repaint. If you are going to do that, Coin would probably be the best color to order.

Hmmmm.... I have thought that I would LOVE to have an orange MINI for a while now (particularly an S) - even before the rumors and discussion seemed to hit "mainstream" on the boards.

To hear that it is a distinct possibility of being released as an new color has been quite exciting. Now though, after reading feedback in various threads on the different boards, it almost appears that a LOT of people will be flocking to the orange. All of the popularity might just keep me away.
