Aero rear spolier (UK price clarification)

Searching through posts regarding the cost of the rear Aero spoiler I'm getting more confused.

My local MINI dealer has quoted a total of £230 for the item painted and ready to fit (I'm happy to fit it myself).

Another dealer has quoted £155 plus £8 for adhesive with the spoiler allegedly arriving in the colour of my choice. I pointed out that the other dealer had assured me it was provided primered only.

Can anyone please clarify if the spoiler is supplied primered and that you have to get it painted, or as the second dealer stated, that it can be ordered in the body colour (chili red in this case) of your choice.

TIA,
Andy

I need to check the exact amount I paid but it was arround £150 and it came painted and was very easy to fit

no drilling its just stuck on,the hardest part was removing the chili pack spoiler,it was bolted and stuck down

Thanks Zoooom - don't worry about the exact price, I was more concerned ordering one and receiving it unpainted. Sounds like the latter dealer was correct.

They can be ordered to colour....however it normally takes about 3-6 weeks for a colour coded item. you would be better to get the primered version.

Fawdingtons in Newcastle quoted me the following.

£900 inc VAT for the Aero Kit (painted)
£100 inc VAT for the Aero Spoiler (painted)
£90 inc VAT for fitting.

thats £1090 FITTED for a painted Aero kit. I'm informed that this is cheap!!!!

So..... £100 for an Aero spoiler

Make you own conclusions peeps.

It seems as if my local dealer got it wrong. After reitterating exactly what I wanted and had been told by the other dealer, I successfully ordered the Aero spoiler in Chilli red at £155 inc VAT (plus the adhesive fixing kit at £8). In stock and due on Thursday.

Apparently, he was looking at the price of a 'Cooper' rear spoiler which was priced at £98 primered, £90 for fitting and a further £140 for painting locally. Ouch. Ordering it direct from the factory, prepainted, along with a three to six week delivery time was even more expensive!

The moral of the story is make sure your dealer knows and orders the correct one! Lucky this forum is here to help

Thanks all (and thanks to the missus for my early b'day present )

Thats a bit pants I ordered mine (white Roof so Aspen White) on a tuesday and had it fitted the following tuesday and they had to order it in! Maybe they have stocks for Black Roof and White Roofed Coopers?

Mine cost me £227 and a few coppers including:

Removal of Chili Spoiler
Courtosy Car for 24 hours insured (at my local dealer have to insure it myself)
Valet

Derek Woodman in Blackpool thankyou
