Offline | If you've already got one set installed then you don't need to take the car to the dealer, everything will work fine. If you are installing from scratch then the computer has to be reprogrammed. It only takes a minute. Offline | I take it that they will charge me for it - what i think i'll do is get the garage to install the first set and then wire the second in myself, is that fairly straightforward to do? Cometh the Hour, Cometh the MINI |

Offline | My garage didn't charge me to do it although I did buy the lights from them so they've taken their profit. Might be a different story if you didn't buy the lights from them. Even if they did charge you, it only takes them a minute to do it so it would only be a few quid. Its relatively straight forward to intall them, see this thread 4 spots thread for other intall info. If you take your time (allow a full day) and read and re-read the instructions from the DIY section and plan what you're going to do then its pretty easy. The hardest part was removing and refitting trim, but its all fitted back now and you wouldn't know that I pulled it off. Wiring in two sets is no more difficult than wiring in one set, give it a go. If you get stuck there are enough of us who've done it now to answer any questions. And besides if you do it all yourself you are saving a couple of hundred quid! ![]() IB ONE, Seven Hole Alloys, Air Con, CD, Chrome bits - Now with Chrome mirrors and chrome side vents + Custom engraved Whalen Shift Knob and four, yes four driving lights! |

Offline | I like the arrangement, but would go for bigger lights. Check out Hella Black Magic driving lights. They appear black until you turn them on. Very cool looking. Four of those in a similar arrangement would be my choice. |

Offline | That four set looks damn sweet. I have two lamps wired already. Can you post a pic on how the wiring scheme goes for the 2 new lamps. Can the wires of the old 2 lamps be used? Cheers! Offline | Unfortunately slegorreta i cant really post a pic on my wiring as it is all wired in and covered up with nothing to really take a pic of !. The wires off your first set are not used as it can cause problems with overloading of power and possible melting your loom . Basically what needs to be done is you have to fit the second loom supplied with your kit and take its power off your first loom by connecting them up together with the two brown/white wires near the BC1 in the drivers footwell. Check out page 11 of sugsters ' 4 spots' thread on this link for my description of how its done http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...&postid=346050 hope it helps Tim ![]() [img]http://www.mini2.com/gallery/personal/aus-timpowers/sig_no_3.jpg[img] MCS,Chili pk,Tints,Eibachs,Aeroskirts,PIAA spots,Wunoff Exhaust system. Offline | Right here goes, due to load and loads of PM's asking how i installed the brackets higher in the centre i have got me camera out for ya's! Basically i have set the inner brackets on the next slat up on the grill.Because i did this it meant that the bottom two holes on them could'nt be used as normal for riveting to the bonnets lip! So..what i did was using the top hole in the bracket i riveted it to the inner bonnet skin, then i took the bottom piece of the bracket and drilled & riveted it across using strips of stainless steel to tie it to my first sets brackets! easy peasy PS.SORRY BOUT THE DIRTY UNDERSIDE OF BONNET DON'T WORRY I'M GONNA WASH IT!! Pic No. 1 -Leftside brackets |
