I have a 2003 MCS on order. I wish to know whether the car will arrive from the factory with the front license plate mount already installed? I plan to drive the car with no front plate installed. Does anyone know if the front mount comes pre-installed for U.S. cars?
If not, I take it that I will have to inform the dealer prep department ahead of time that I wish to leave the mounting bracket off. Has anyone had experience with this? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
I think that the front of the car looks quite nice without the plate. Why destroy such a pretty face.
Any and all relies will be greatly appreciated.

My dealer intentionally left the bracket and the plate in the boot, with the explanation that I could easily install it myself if I wanted to. He cited exactly the same reason. Front plates are required in this state, but I plan to tell the officer (when I'm stopped) that the dealer did it.

That's daring..telling the officer your dealer did it. Won't exactly put you in nice with them if you ever need any help...

A lot of people have asked about putting euro plates on...with no plate I imagine it might look a bit odd. With the (narrow) euro plate the car looks just right.

I asked my dealer to have the plate mount left off or removed, but he did the same thing with that request that he did with all my other requests. It seemed like he hadn't made an effort to even check into any of it, so it is likely that it might have been possible to have them leave the plate mount off, but it never happened. MINIs really look much better without it.

For MCS, there will be no front plate mount. But there is pre-drill hole. MOst of the dealer will not put it on for you. So you just need to tell your dealer let you do it yourself, then should be ok. I don;t plan to put the fornt on mine niether.

My front plate bracket was in my boot. Florida only uses one plate so that made sense.

I asked my dealer not to install the mount, it was in the boot with a couple of screws. A friend of mine just got his car and said nothing before delivery, his came with the mounting already installed (both MCS). I have since installed the aero kit plate mount, think it looks much better, and I will not [eventually] get pulled over for that excuse .

Checkered Flag was not putting on front bumper plates last year, but why not call Colleen and ask?

The car comes from the factory with two dimples in the bumper cover, to indicate where the holes should be drilled for the bracket. I reminded my dealer that I didn't want the plate mount, and I expect all MINI dealers are aware that lots of buyers don't want their bumper drilled.
