Offline | Official MINI Car cover UK (Exterior) I have the Official UK MINI car cover and went to put it on but there doesn't seem to be a hole for the arial to go through. Does the antenna come off or do I just poke a hole in the car cover, I didn't really want to start making holes in it and I sort of tried to twist the Antenna off but it didn't look like it wanted to come off so I left it ![]() Any help apprciated! ![]() |

Offline | yeah, the antenna should just screw right off. Mine comes off pretty easily, and I was worried about it the first time as well. Don't worry, and I wouldn't poke a hole into the new car cover either! 02 Cooper Silk Green/white roof. |

Offline | What are you kidding me? The official MINI cover doesn't have a sleeve for the antenna? You have to screw it off every time you want to use it? Note to anyone considering an outdoor cover, do yourself a favor and buy a Nextec fabric cover (called "Weather Shield" by CoverCraft). There are quite a few dealers who sell them listed in the FAQ in the Maintainance forum. This cover is awesome and there is one for Coopers and another for the S. ![]() |

Offline | Well, I use my cover everyday. So personally I would not want to deal with unscrewing the antenna 500 times a year, but hey that's just me I think sooner or later I would be a clutz and drop the thing and scrape the roof or strip the threads, or just tire of the whole ordeal and not bother with the antenna or the cover. In any case I would be miffed that my "official" product was so poorly designed. Since I own a CoverCraft custom cover for my MCS, I know that there is a better alternative out there. It's light, folds up very small, dries well, fits perfectly...all around superior product. ![]() |
