Offline | Hmmm, all this talking about 17" wheels, make me wanna change my order and upgrade from my 16" 5 star alloys! What do you think guys? You reckon it's worth the £370? Offline | It's not that I don't like them - I actually thnk they are pretty funky. It's just that the 17"s are Sooooooooo good. They make the car a bit more muscley (is that a word?) ![]() Red/white Cooper with Chilli, AC, ASC+T, Computer, Kenwood MP3, Alarm, 17" wheels, BLOODY BIG SMILE. | Bring the noise | Went to my dealer on Sunday, and he has a blue/white demo with silver 17s and bonnet stripes. The stripes look pants ! But luckily a customer had ordered the same spec without the stipes and was awaiting it's PDI. WOW ! that combo is by far and away the best that I have seen ! and I have seen a few ! The 17s give the car an ultra funky look, and are the biz ! I want 'em ! |

Offline | I think it's perfectly acceptable except on some stretches of motorway - at very high speed (well, 70+) the pitted surface of a motorway, or expansion joints, and in particular the inside lane can really give a rough ride. Around town it's over firm but not too bad - I would be interested to know if 16" wheel cars suffer the same problems on SS+, as I suspect it's more to do with the spring and damper settings than it is the wheels... ![]() |

| Bring the noise | My main concern over the 17s comes from an article in The Telegraph who drove the Superchips MINI ONE. They reported that with the 17s and very low profile rubber 40 as opposed to the factory fit 45 the ride was awful ! Not sure what suspension that car is fitted with tho'. I'm gonna go for 17s as they look superb, my currnet mini bounces over and pitches over the smallest bump in the road, so I can't really see 17s and SS+ being worse ! |

Offline | I had my Cooper delivered back in September and I wanted to get the 17's but at the time they were unavailable. I was back at the dealers a couple of weeks ago and she said the 17's made the ride really bumpy and she preferred the 16's. So maybe they do make a difference? |

Offline | My dealer has the 17's with ssp on his demo. He said there is not much difference in the ride quality between the 16's or 17's, just slight. Then again it depends on how much of a bumpy ride you want. My replacement cooper is being upgraded from 16's to 17's and i just cant wait! The bumpier the better for me, after all MINI is all about the go-kart feel......and i just love it!! Regards, lol |

| Trained Monkey | The ride in that car seemed fine to me! And also according to a couple of other reports I have seen/read! Each to their own! Our trials and tribulations living in a "bleeding edge" eco house... Oxley Woods Living |
