Offline | I've had mini for about 2 months now, and whilst I am a careful and respectful driver, I have managed to clock up the following dings which I would really like to get sorted out, the only problem is I have a feeling (based on previous experience) that BMW/Mini will charge too bloody much - so i'm looking for more 'cost-effective' ideas and inspiration =) Ding 1 - Whacked my drivers white wing mirror cap on a width restriction and have scuffed the cap. BMW/Mini say that you can't get a touch up stick for it, and to replace it will cost about 55 GBP. Owch! Ding 2 - Scraped the edge of my S-Spoke 17"s on the kerb and need to get them filed/polished/laquered up, but daren't even ask BMW/Mini as my poor heart will probably give out. So, does anyone have any ideas on how to get Mini back to her pristene glory? I live in on the North Lon/South Herts borders so local places would ideal. Thanks for your help =) Si All new MCS, Hyper Blue, Split Rims, EFM's... etc... check profile for more... |

| MINI2 Regular | Try these people. http://www.chipsaway.co.uk/ They only repair the area that needs repairing. They come to you. They can repair chips, dents, scrapes on metal or plastic and they do a great job on wheels. I have used them very successfully, when the BMW Bodyshop quoted me £535 for two large stone chips on my roof, chips-away did the whole lot for £50+vat. Black Jack |

Offline | Cheers Keef.. Have checked out their site, and they seem to run as a franchise, so I'll call my local man and see what happens. Just hope the quality of the work is equally as high. All new MCS, Hyper Blue, Split Rims, EFM's... etc... check profile for more... |

Offline | My dealership offered me a service they call the 'dent magician'. Although this refers more to bodywork dents than anything else, it's a service I thought worth mentioning - for example, I have a car-park dent in my door - more annoying than anything else. To have BMW do it would dost me £250; the 'Dent Magician' will charge £50. Obviously the latter will just be a tap-out job and the former a full knock out and respray, but it's 200 squids I'd rather keep tucked in my wallet! MINI Going.....Toyota Supra RZ-S Twin Turbo Coming....Standing Quarter, anyone....? |
