| MINI2 Regular | If you do fit neons be careful were you use them. I had a set of blue neons under my Cosmos Black Cooper. Looked great, all Fast & Furious. I had them on going along a local by-pass, I forgot to turn them off, and got pulled over by the local law givers. Despite my defence of "I forgot they were on" and a lot of pleading by my AA legal advisor, I got a £500 fine plus costs. I'm still unsure of the legal position but I don't think you are allowed to use them while the vehicle is in motion on public roads. So beware. ![]() Black Jack |

Offline | Flashing ones are not legal while the car is moving, if you are using blue neons, the car must be stationary, they cannot be used while moving. all other types are perfectly road legal. that site i mentioned above outlines the legal stance ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | My neons were fixed (non flashing) and other than the reflected light from the road could not be seen. My AA legal advisor, also believed that the non flashing light was legal, but was informed by the court that "any light of any colour that reflected from under a vehicle while moving was a distraction to other road users and as such was a breach of the code of Road Safety" hence the large fine. I was tempted to appeal, but as costs for the original case had been £275 I couldn't afford it. I still feel a little agreeved and got at by the Magistrates. I think I caught them on a bad day as a recent case for the same offence was only fined £150. He had white neons (non flashing)under his Citroen Saxo. Best of luck anyway. Black Jack |

| Now With More Cowbell | I'm just waiting for someone to do a shockingly loud indiglo bonnet scoop insert for the MCS to replace that boring painted plastic piece. Wouldn't that be cool? Christopher, this is your sense of good taste and restraint speaking. No, it wouldn't! Right then. ![]() -CW Global Moderator |
