United-Kingdom Union Jack Mirror Covers

I've recently ordered Union Jack Mirror covers for my IB/W Cooper. I did a search to see if anyone else has installed these and came up with nothing. Has anyone else installed these on their MINI? I noticed the chrome mirror covers just cover the original mirror covers but MINImania states you have to remove the core and send the original back to them.

Just wondering if anyone had pics I can see.

Thanks,
Minimom

Okay, they have arrived! Now, I need HELP! The tech told me how to remove the original mirror covers, there are tabs behind the mirror in which you push. This is extremely hard to do, I can't figure it out. If anyone has taken these off before and can please give me guidance I would be greatful.

Thanks,
Minimom

Wow! People have been trying to get me to come over here to MINI2. I asked a "how to" question, got a very quick answer and voila! I now have Union Jack Mirror Covers! You guys Rock!

I'll post pictures as soon as I figure out how!

Thanks tremendously,
Minimom

Excellent.

I've not seen Union Jack wing mirrors before, should look pretty cool?

I think they look pretty cool.

At least noone can knock in your wing mirrors when walking/driving by and honestly say they didn't see them!

I'd like to see them in the chequered pattern. Anyone seen those?

Trust not the heart of a man for whom old clothes, and the Mini, are not venerable!

I got them from MINImania. They are handpainted but a bit pricey. After close inspection, if you have the right width of tape and the new plastic paints that are out now, it would be very easy to design and do it yourself! I think a checkered pattern would be extremely easy to do. With it just being paint, if you messed up, you can lightly sand and try it again!
