I'm thinking of attempting those magnetic stripes for my July MC as I'd only like to have stripes once in a while.

Anyway, my MC will be Indi Blue with black roof and mirrors, so I thought black stripes would match best. But then it occurred to me - is Indi Blue too dark for black stripes?

Anybody have them? Pictures?

Personally I think Indi Blue is a bit dark for the stripes to stand out.

Having said that you can get the black strips with a white pinstripe down the edges, that would proabably look better.

Not fond of the white pinstripe edges, but I see there are some silver stripes that might look nice on Indi Blue.

Thanks for the pic. You don't happen to have any pics of the stripes before the silver was added, do you? Did you add the silver because the stripes weren't noticable enough?

I prefer a subtle look, but I'm trying to figure out whether plain black stripes would get completely "lost" on Indi Blue or not.

I have IB with white roof and white bonnet stripes. I think the black would show up just fine. Look how you can see the black plastic trim around the edges, subtle like you want but you can still differentiate between the two colors. Besides, if you are getting them magnetic its not very much money in case you really don't like them. I say go for it.

Good points about the black trim and the low cost. I think I'll have them made by a local sign place so they'll be ready when the car is here. I figure I should have them cut to 36" and then trim as needed.

I'm running out things to prepare for this car - what am I going to do for the whole month of June???

I too thought I wanted the subtle look. Turns out it was too subtle. I have a pic of the two stripes side by side. I took this photograph after I had pinstriped one bonnet stripe.

I think I'll do the same and start with the plain black. Then if I come to the same conclusion you did, I'll add the pinstripes.

Afer much deliberation I opted for black stripes with white pinstripes on my indi blue/black MCS. I was also concerned if there'd be enough contrast bu they look really cool, would be too subtle without the contrasting edge. Looks really nice with a light tint to the windows .......

OS Jonnie, as far as pinstriping goes, try out the same color as your wheels. My MC has the silver wheels, thus the silver pinstriping. Another MINI owner had suggested it me after I had mentioned a different color.

You can add any color pinstripes if you want! Try different combinations, just make sure you do it all within 24 hours.

I decided that the black stripes were too subtle, so I had the dealer add the white stripe, and I think it looks good with the IB/B combo....
