Offline | Looks very good! Some questions for you if you don't mind: Did you note any "low" spots on your arches? I've got them, in what seems like the locations where the mount posts are molded in? I've seen others after they've been painted and saw the dimples on a few. It looks like your aero grille and lower mesh have been painted gloss also, or is that just the rain producing the gloss? Did your friend use a special paint for plastic or just add the flex additive to normal auto paint? Did you remove them for painting or mask them off? Like I said a few questions !! Once again they really look very nice, top job.![]() Last edited by Smokey 4 : May 25th, 2003 at 01:51 AM. |

Offline | Smokey, i do see some low spots where the push pins are located to mount the arches. the aero kit bottom is painted but the grille is not. no special paint just some flex added to the paint. i took the arches off the car and left the front bumper and sides on for painting. thanks for the compliments. and yes my car stands out in my neighborhood. my neighbors think im crazy. |

| My mini is my casket | This might sould like a stupid question, but If I want a local shop to pait my arches the same color of my mini, Which is the dark silver. Can you REALLY duplicate the factory paint to look like a factory job? There is a metalic flake look in my color. I just cant see how they can get it right on. has anyoner here had theirs done by a shop to the car color? Thanks |

Offline | Romhog, If you get the paint code(ususally found on the mfg plate on the door sill or somewhere nearby,)a good shop should be able to match it perfectly. Definitely sand the parts, prime with plastic primer, add flex agent to color, and spray. I've seen some places use a base coat & clear coat, but it ended up cracking and chipping off. Like suprchrgdmini said, a good shop should be able to match it perfect. |
