DIY Body Work/Paint Color

Pay attention! There will be a test. Well, for me, anyways, to save myself from a possibl $200 mistake..

Okay, so I have a BRG MC. I want to get rid of the chrome grill, and get a matching-body-color one.

Now, speaking with my dealer, I can get a "paintable" one or a "chrome" one.
Spoke to my local bodyshop, and they say they have the factory paint-specs in their system, and could do it.. However, they said that, and I quote: "If the factory deviated a few shades, then it would not match, and look awful."
Went back to talking with my dealer, to see if there was a part # for pre-painted grille, and he said "No, whenever we have a customer that wants it painted, we just drop it off to the body shop that does out work." When asked if it matches, he says "Perfectly."

SO. My quesiton - Off hand, does anyone know if there ARE part #'s for pre-painted?
If NOT, any have problems getting a body shop to properly match a Mini color (BRG?)

FINALLY, the two "arches" over the top grille, and under the bottom grille. Are these removable? Are there part numbers for unpainted parts for these? (I asked my dealer, and got a round-the-bush answer..)

Many thanks, cheers!
Mike.

I had my bonnet and bumper repainted, (Indi, so it was metallic) and you couldn't tell. If its a competant body shop, and they have experience with MINIs (mine was the body shop for the dealer group that owned the MINI franchise) I wouldn't be too worried. Perhaps you can leave them with the cover for your towhook (be careful getting it off!) so they can match exactly?

Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball.

Search E-Bay or MINI forums for green parts from cars that
have had Aero Kit installed.

Thanks!
