Offline | Squished (Mutant) Fly marks Help, does anyone have problems with removing dead flies from the bonnett. I have a black MCS with "scars" from dead flies which I cannot remove. Is this a paint work defect or is black prone to this marking? ![]() |

Offline | you can get some special bug remover stuff. it is good stuff and works easy, not much elbow grease needed. I can't remember the name of the product I use, but there should be a few of them, just go to your local car store and they should have something.. the problem is that the bugs get cooked on there and it becomes very difficult to remove all of the guts. this reminds me of a bad joke... what is the last thing that goes through a bugs mind when it hits your car? . .. . ... . .... its butt. current car - 97 integra GSR future car - MCS |

Offline | How often do you clean it? Black (which is wht I have) shows these badly but you have to clean them off regularly (almost daily) to stop them killing the clear coat. Bird dung is even worse. I keep a bottle of Autoglym Fast Glass and a cloth in the boot for bug and cleaning. Don't rub the dung too hard, it scratches! You could try a clay product from Meguiars, Zymol, Zaino or one of the other myriad detailing product companies. I'm no expert but bugs made a real mess of my Galaxy bonnet (I did only wash it annually though!) |

Offline | Thanks for all the advice. I do wash regularly. I found some "3M Finesse-it" today and that did the job very well. I once left Bird S*&^ for one day and that was long enough for it to pit the paintwork. I used Auto Gleam at the weekend and also some t-cut but no elbow grease was enough. The 3M stuff didn't even need that much effort. Well worth the extortunate £11 for a litre. Now all I need to do is find a good wax to finish her off. Nine coats though come on that's a bit exreme isn't it? ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | bird s*&$ is nasty stuff, one of the guys at work has an electric blue MCS with the black roof, he had to have the roof repainted due to an over size pigeon dropping that backed on in the sun. Horrible stuff Rob 2004 Cooper - Indi Blue, White Roof, Aero Kit, Driving Lights, Harman Kardon. - *SOLD*:Flash Red: SEAT Leon Cupra R - woooosh |
