Offline | Paint Protection You are going to hear from all sides most likely and I have to admit I'm coming from the Zaino corner. Go to their web site for the routine. I've used: Zymol Meguiars (3 Step (Cleaner, Polish, Wax) and a bunch of also rans over the years. Meguiars is awesome on a solid color like black. For me the downside was the buffing time. I won't risk swirling my car with a power buffer so it's manual labor. Zymol - Not that impressed. Just didn't last that well. Zaino was very easy to apply AND buff. It's about the most expensive if you use the ZFX speed harderner but it's so easy to buff out. I can do my MINI with about 1/3 to 1/2 oz at most. Nuff said. Whatever you use do it faithfully and by the numbers and you should be happily motoring in a very shiny MINI. |

Offline | Griot's Car Wash for the soapy part of the process ... a little straight out of the bottle will remove bugs and tar better than any specifilized application I've tried. Another vote for Zaino's for the final finish. |

| Dead Man's Curve? Feh. | Zaino may be expensive, expecially with the ZFX, but if you apply it very sparingly as directed the cost per application is reasonable, especially considering the results. I just Zaino'd my MCS and 3 coats took only 1/2 oz. Terrific results. |

Offline | I picked up the Meguiars wash and 3 step system. How is the Meguiars Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax? It's jell based, however, I've heard the paste was better. I didn't buy that because I didn't see it at 2 of the Pep Boys I went to. Is ZAINO only on the net? How long should I wait till I actually wax it and how often do most of you use the 3 step system? Also, my girlfriend bought the Mothers 3 step set, just to see the difference. How's the Mothers brand? Let it be known this is my first NEW car, my other was pretty beaten up when I bought it so it wasn't worth doing anything else to it but wash it. So this whole wash polish and wax is all new to me. |

Offline | I've been very happy with S100 (carnauba) and Klasse (acrylic), both go on and off very easily and don't marr black trim. The Klasse is durable (up to 6 months) and the S100 is a great topper. As for washing, I was pleased with P21S, but recently tried the Meguiars Gold Class because it's cheaper and like it as well. Do some searches on the Autopia site. Last edited by GregF : Jun 8th, 2004 at 09:41 PM. Reason: sp |

Offline | Zymol is my choice. if you use it regularly it's an easy process. it is 100% natural with no chemicals. that's what i want on my car. the results are great. zymol has a kit just for the mini. i think it's about 45 bucks online. i've done the full process on my car twice so far and waxed it at least 4 other times agian with zymol. it will be a year old in two months. |
