Offline | I fitted the Aux driving lights to my R/H drive MCS at the weekend and all I can say is, that the estimated 2.5 hours on the instructions was a little under estimated. Probably took me more like 9 hours. It's the sort of job that if you have done it once you probably could do in 2.5 hours! I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who lacks patience, take it to the dealer. Oh yeah and they don't work, because the dealer has to switch them on for you! |

Offline | Aux Lights The kits seem to be different for the US and UK. The UK ones don't have a switch and don't connect to the radio. We have to plug into the control unit pin 41, which is the main beam sensor. I think in the US kits you simply spur off of another wire using a snap connector. Believe me, getting the trim off by the control unit on a r/h drive car is almost impossible with the accelerator pedal in the way. Then you have to detach the control unit from the bodywork so that you can get to the appropriate plug, whilst upside down in the footwell. |

Offline | The US and UK drv. light kits are different--that's why the UK kit costs $200(usd) and the US kit $350-$400, not including installation. The UK kit is wired in parallel to the main beams and does not have a separate shutoff switch. And the relay is switched on the ground side. The ground pin sense line needs to be programmed active by the UK dealer. The US kit has a separate shutoff switch and the relay is switched on the power side. The UK kit, if used in a US MINI simply needs the GND and PWR leads to the relay coil swapped in order to work by switching the power side with the high-beam signal. And this doesn't have to be dealer programmed. You also need to cut the PWR jumper, at the relay coil, that goes to what will become the new coil ground pin, obviously. |

Offline | Yes the dealer needs to activate the lights for them to work. But be warned like mentioned above on a RHD car getting to the BC1 is a pain in the ass and takes time. When I connected mine into pin41 it didnt seem to go in all the way and I was worried as it didnt want to come out. Just glad it went in enought !! They work great! |
