Offline | S side skirts dealer fitting My Cooper is due in 2 weeks 6 days (!), not that I'm counting the days or anything! Just deciding whether to have the S side-skirts fitted to it - do you think the dealer would fit them free of charge (I'll pay for them or course) before I pick it up? Seeing as I only got £35 off the car, in the form of white lenses and alloy footrest! What does anyone think? :-) PS. My Cooper is £15,100, so I should hope they'd want to help me a little bit for that ![]() |

Offline | Asked him today, he's coming back to me tomorrow. Should I get the skirts or not? I think they look sleeker than the cooper's flat skirts - but, I'm trying to figure out what makes me think "that's a cooper" from the side, profile angle. The Cooper S seems to be a bit sleeker than the cooper from the side - why is this?? Is it a bit lower? I seem to be able to tell a coop from an S from the RIGHT side (ie. the only difference is the white side repeaters which are insignificant and the curved skirts). Anyone any ideas?? The S skirts, though, do seem to reflect light more due to the curve, drawing attention to the fact that they are indeed plastic. Should I or shouldn't I?? ![]() |

Offline | Rang my dealer, he says they cost £37 each, so £74 for the pair. But, in the D.I.Y. on here it says £23 each - we're sorting out the descrepancy at the moment. He won't fit them for free though - he wants to charge me £140 inc. fitting!! So, I'm thinking of fitting them myself - I've read the D.I.Y., but, from anyone that has done this - is it REALLY easy? I'm not practical at all, and don't want the skirts hanging off my brand new cooper! I'll be getting the 2 skirts and the 8 pins, not fresh sills and not 4 fresh upper-pins. So, with these, will it be easy to do and will I do a good job, as if it was fitted by the dealer? Are there any risks, things getting scratched/broken etc? :-) ![]() |
