Offline | I remember reading something about this a little while back, but I can't remember where I saw it (searching for something like this doesn't really help either!). What I'm looking for is the ordering code from BMW / MINI to get the folks at Oxford to NOT install exterior emblems on the vehicle. I wasn't sure if the guy who said he ordered his without emblems meant JUST the 'Cooper' and the 'S,' or both of those AND the MINI wings, front and rear. I will be ordering my car on Saturday from the good people at Century MINI in Greenville, SC, USA, so time certainly is an issue! If anyone has anything they would like to let me in on, please email me - MikeGarcia@fastlanetuning.com - thanks in advance! Offline | Think it's only possible to not have the Cooper or S badge. As to the other badges, not sure if they're just stuck on with soft glue so they can easily be removed. I know people have removed the Cooper badge using a little heat and dental floss. Red/Black R56 Cooper |

Offline | dental floss, huh? that's strange.... my business partner owns a vinyl graphics shop, and is a professional at anything you can stick onto a car - i will be sure to not tell him that people are removing emblems with dental floss! i've removed emblems off of all sorts of cars, from my own Honda Accord that i just sold, to my old Acura Integra, BMW's, Volvo's, etc, and i've never used dental floss - you always use a razor blade, and take your time so you don't scratch the paint, while using a lubricating fluid on the surface to glide the blade and make it easy to remove.... its not a big deal to remove the emblems, i am well aware of that (i DO own a business that specializes in customizing cars to the limits), but i would rather not have to even worry about removing them, because they will do me no good once removed, the adhesive will be worthless after stripping them off the car.... oh well, no matter! | MINI2 Senior | If you pull the badges off (The MINI ones) you will be left with two holes on the bonnet and two in the bootlid. I know this because I fitted my own triple racing stripes and when I heated them and ran dental floss through them, low and behold, two holes under each to help centre the badges. |

Offline | I haven't used ddental floss personally but I'm sure that's what someone on here recommended. Seems a good idea as that couldn't harm the paint if your hand slipped. Red/Black R56 Cooper |

Offline | Thanks, that was my NEXT question! I'll have my friend at the body and paint shop that I work a lot with deal with welding the holes over - eventually! I'm not going to start tearing this car apart like I did my last one trying to make everything all custom like.... Thanks, unfortunately I already placed my order. No big deal though, it will be better in the long run - once I get the car WITH the emblems on it, I'll be able to strip them off, and put them in the car where I wanted to. I called my dealership up yesterday, and they wanted $33 USD for EACH of the rear emblems - the 'Cooper' AND the 'S' - so $66 total! Yeah right, you're not going to rip me off like that, I'll just re-use the ones I have, thank you very much!Mike Garcia - professional 'TOONR' 2003 MINI Cooper S - "FAST125" ![]() NOPI Nationals 2007 1st Place Winner - Elite European Custom Class |
