Hi Folks
I've promised myself one more little accessory for my MINI-D before it arrives mid August.

Thinking of going for the bonnet stripes either in plain black or with the white pinstripe. What do you all think - black? pinstripe? none?

To help paint a picture, the car is sg/sg with sunroof and chrome exterior pack. Think I will be adding the lights to the front grill at some point as well.

None. But if you held a gun to my head, I'd recommend the black, since a white stripe would introduce a third colour.

You already have black on the tyres, the window surrounds, wipers, aerial etc

Picked up my 'D' yesterday - overall I'm very pleased, but I think I'd be happier with sport seats, and the quality of the glove box lid/cover/door is not what I would expect from BMW.

Hi Harpo. Any particular reason why you say none?
You have a good point about the third colour. Was thinking of just leaving the grill black and getting black bumper inserts - but I think the chrome adds character to the MINI.

I've not tried, but I reckon that if you took a b&w photo, you would see that the gold would show as a mid grey.

Ergo, the contrast between body colour and stripe would not be so great when compared with say BRG/W or LY/B.

Again another personal opinion, I think that the SG is perceived as a 'quality' colour rather than a 'sport' colour.

Go for the chrome grille though, it looks ten times what it costs.
