Carbon Fiber Hood ?

I've seen the thread by SMG.

I have aquired some minor hood damage (via rock thrown from offroading redneck's tire). Rather than turn the damage over to insurance, I'm considering possibly replacing with carbon fiber instead. My premiums wouldn't increase and I save the deductible--basically, the fiber's got a good vote going for it.

Any ideas of where I should look in the US--even outside the states?
BTW, for Cooper---not S.

I think a user on Mini2 has put a carbon fibre hood on his MCS. His username is SMG, try PM'ing him.

There's someone over on MINICooperOnline.com who had made and installed a CF bonnet. Look in the Interior & Exterior Mods forum.

Alice (Cooper) is almost as much fun as I had hoped.
Would my fuel economy improve if I didn't have so much fun?

I believe http://www.autofashion.co.uk now produce them, there should be a contact on their site.

Sunny Styling in California should be up to the task. That way you don't have to pay overseas shipping on such a bulky item.

No "could" about it. I regularly ship aerokit pieces from Japan. At consumer rates, I'm estimating that sea freight across the Atlantic would run up to $200 and take about 6-8 weeks if you're lucky. Air freight would take about a week or two depending on customs but would range anywhere from $500-1000 depending on the bulk.

Understood. It is a very complicated piece with the lights in it. Thanks for your help.

Any idea on a US release date SMG?

Ruf, Sunny Styling has a hood, or can fabricate?

Yeah, I understand the complications with MINI's hood too.
