England MCS spoiler!

Could any body tell me the best route to take when upgrading my Cooper spoiler to a MCS spoiler?

What sort of costs am I looking at to do this?

Is it through my dealer or is that too expensive? Or order the spoiler and get a garage to fit it? etc

Plz help me Mini2'ers

I'll be interested to see how you get on with this. My dealer won't even sell me one without an S chassis number. Also, I'm told that fitting the S spoiler requires some drilling, but you may already have the required holes as you have the cooper spoiler.

Let me know how you get on

correct, it is a definate no no, the chassis number has to be entered on screen at the time of ordering for 'S' part number (same goes for 'M' stuff on beemers)

easier to get the aero spoiler, which looks just as nice

Not hard to get an S chassis number Theres surely enough sat in the dealers car park

I wantd the S spoiler for aggggeeeesss, then found out early Build Cooper's with Chili pack have a central bolt for the spoiler (apparently now they don't) so went with Aero spoiler. Aero spoiler looks best in my opinion now I've seen em side by side. In fact if I get an S I'd have the spoiler changed. But I may not get an S now.

It seems to depend on the dealer whether you need an S chassis number or not - if they're prepared to co-operate and help you

I ordered the S-side skirts an alloy pedals for my Cooper, and they said "no problem at all". No question about a chassis number - I gave them the exact part numbers for the items. Try a different dealer if you don't have any luck with yours if you really want the S spoiler IMHO the Cooper Chili spoiler is more classy, more subtle - I personally think the S spoiler detracts from the rear of the car a bit - especially in profile view.

Cheers for the help guys. I didn't realise that the Aerokit spoiler was different from the MCS spoiler which explains things!

Although I am a fan of the MCS spoiler it is only a slight preference. Cost is a big issue as I am skint so the Aerokit spoiler is the answer.

Now wheres the best place to get the spoiler and fitted from?

I'm starting to feel the same way.... I think it's quite easy to fit yourself (should come with a fitting kit) so this will save some more of you hard earned... post a couple of pics when you get it done PortRhombus

I got mine fitted for £237 including:

Aero Spoiler pre painted Aspen White (White roof)
Removal of Chili Spoiler
Treatment of holes no longer needed to bolt on Chili Spoiler
Insured courtosy car for 24 hours (I actually had to have it 24 hours due to work commitments and didn't even have to arrange my own insurance)

Bargain (considering spoiler cost £155 which I'm not sure includes fitting kit but no doubt minity will clarify)

Like I say PR, if you want, I'm selling my spoiler cause of the Zeemax kit! I suppose it depends on the colour of your car too though!

£237 for everything, so really £155 + £82 fiting etc

Wasn't my dealer though as they wanted £400 got it from Derek Woodmans in Blackpool.

Will amend above post.

BTW make sure they get a pre painted spoiler, otherwise you'll have to pay for painting to. Some colours wil have to be painted by the dealer though (eg electric blue, dark silver, gold) But as most people with have a black or white roof, or have an S so don't want to change, can't see it being a problem for most.

JULZ: Cheers for the offer but unfortunately my roof is black! p.s Definetely let me know when you finally get that beast of a bodykit fitted!

DAMO: What il do is just nip into my local Sytner and ask how much the job will set me back! If they let me order the MCS spoiler that is!

If theres any Mini2'er out there who is selling there black MCS spoiler for some obscure reason (new bodykit) then plz let me know.
