hey my jcw arrives in roughly a week and one of then things i have to change is the antenna.gotta get rid of that radio controlled model car look.

so please post any pictures of aftermarket antennas if you would.

Honda S2000 antenna. 8" from roof to tip including base. I want to get one of the Audi ones that only stick up about 3". Actually I'd just like to get a plug for the base and not run any antenna at all.

I've got a chrome Richbrook aerial. They've been discussed a few times on this board. You can often find them for sale on eBay. Heres a link to Richbrook:

Just installed mine yesterday. Bought it from Richmond Mini and is made of annodized aluminum.

Tinman, the price from Richmond Mini including PST/GST came to CDN$37.31. Mini Mania advertises the same antenna for US$22.95. So once you factor in the exchange, cost of shipping/handling plus duties and taxes; the price at Richmond Mini is not too bad.

Sometime ago, a co-member of the Vancouver Mini Cooper Club paid CDN$20-25 for a similar looking antennae from a certain "Lawrence", but was informed that it was made of plastic not anodized aluminum!

Those EXACT same (Audi TT style) antennas can be had MUCH cheaper than that price.

Really cool, great quality and it is glossy black as the base of the antenna on the MINI, so it looks totally as an original equipment piece.

The S2000/Element some are recommnending are flat black.

I've got a couploe of shorty arials the first one is from a guy on here called Matt and the other thin one is from a US TT (I actually bought it for my golf a couploe of years ago) They don;t effect the cd's performance at all...
