Offline | Clear rear lights Who has fitted the clear rear lights and not put the reflectors on. Has it got you into trouble with the police? I am thinking of getting clear lights but the stick-on reflectors look naff. |

| UberGeek | I've got clear rear lenses, no reflectors, and I've not had any trouble. Here is my MINI's rear just after fitting the lenses: http://punkey.net/RearLightCluster-job_done.html Lee |

Online | What a dangerous crowd we are! Ironic that we're shaking in our boots cuz we fitted something that leaves our MINIs every bit as visible at night as the stock lights. More visible IMHO. MINImeat B/W MCS |

Offline | The point about reflectors is not when the cars running - it's when it's parked. If you only ever park on your drive or in your garage, you'll probably not get any stick. It's also regional - I know Gloucestershire have had a clampdown, for example (as my parents live there, I chose to be legal). There were earlier posts re: this (can't be a***ed to search for em, sorry) about how if you do not fit reflectors and someone drives into your car while it's parked - it's your fault. Good enough reason for me, to be honest. However, as mikey points out, there's no legal minimum size or shape or whatever, so I'd look at the small round option - if I had not ordered white lights to be fitted when I collected the car, complete with the 3-series style reflectors in the bumper... |

Online | Just been to an MOT station and read THE BOOK. Refectors are not required if it can be proved that the vehicle will not be on a public road after dark Refective tape is not permitted There is no size regulations, there must be 2 and the must be mounted symetrically. Got my clear lights, aiting for the reflectors mike |
