Wales Cooper S Filler Cap

I ordered my S filler cap, along with the sharks fin chrome grilles and clear repeaters, before my MINI arrived. I fitted the grilles as soon as I got the car home, but I've been waiting for weeks for the paint kit for painting the insert!

Anway, the paint kit arrived, and I fitted the new filler cap! I couldn't believe how easy it was to do! Admittedly, my step-dad helped me who is a qualified mechanic of 35 years, but It took no more than 45 mins IN TOTAL! The painting of the insert took the best part of a day, because it's not worth rushing that!

Anyway, I wanted to post a few pics of the finished product because I think my car looks stunning now!

I hope you like

Kaz, it looks lovely, well done.
I've been thinking of changing mine, so I'm glad you think it is easy.
Where did you get it from and where did you get the paint from?

What a great taste in filler cap and side vents you have!

The conversion is worth it isn't it!

Get the alloy "S" pedal set fitted as well. It really does liven up the interior!

paint kit

Where did you get the " paint kit " that you refer to. I have a friend in the same situation as you were he has the cap but no idea how to paint to match. Could you give me a lead on the paint kit. Looks sharp by the way. Randy

You can buy the paint kit from your MINI dealer.

I'ts a spray can of paint colour and a spray can of laquer.

I used this on mine and the results are a perfect match to the car. Just follow the instructions with the tins.

I bought the paint set from my dealer! Admitedly, It took them 6 weeks to get it in! Something to do with stock shortage in Germany!

Anyway, it was £8 for the paint and laquer! They are genuine parts, and as R1 quite rightly put

!

The result is well worth it! I also invested in a tube of 'autosol' (available at halfords) and I regularly polish all the chrome on my beast!

I bought the filler cap and side vents + repeaters from MINISPARES. Excellent fast service, totally recommended! It was £49 for the vents+repeters and £55 for the filler cap kit without the paint! Then £8 for the paint at the dealers!

The dealer lead me to believe that my June 03 model Cooper with Chilli pack would have the chrome pedals, but they didn't . How much are the S pedals and where can I obtain them?

Cheers
