Hi folks.

We have an '01 Cooper in Silver/Blank and would like to buy a new S. However, we have one unusual requirement and so far we've drawn a blank.

Here it is:

We want the car in purple - the BMW purple, not anything obscure.

Can anyone shed any light over whether this is possible - even if it means a longer wait - other than the respray route (which I have managed to talk my dear wife out of). We don't even mind paying a little more for the priviledge of a purple S...

Can anyone help?

Unfortunately the BMW "individual" programme does not extend to MINI

This I think is a market they are missing out on. I for one would love a unique and individual colour

I must admit i'd fancy a mini in that metallic yellow they do on M3's

Unfortunately even if they did MINI individual paint schemes Pheonix Yellow is one of the two M only colours, so they probably wouldn't do it anyway...

We wanted our M3 in bluewater (a 5 series colour) and BMW GB wouldnt do that either....

Here in the UK you can select any colour you wish and interior fabrics/colours for a few extra thousand pounds. I notice now that Audi offer this service too.

before I ordered my upcoming S I asked this of the dealer. Alas, no Individual programme. My last BMW was an Individual and I for one would have been more than happy to specify the same colour scheme I had on that (Velvet Blue and Champagne Nappa leather).

The velvet blue is superb - its a cross between montreal blue/avus blue and techno violet depending how the light catches it.

So you're only option is as suggested, respray it - you will of course be strongly advised not to do this because it will 'hurt its re-sale value'.
