| Amiga 500 to PS3 20 Years | I did write a detailed how to on this. Posted it in the test forum and requested it to be added to the DIY info and no one did anything with it. I expect you'll still find it in the test forum. If it helps, tell the powers that be and maybe it will get added to help out others. ![]() ![]() It was acceptable in the 80's |

| MINI2 Global Moderator | My best way is to get a couple of long handle desert spoons or something similarly long, thin and very flat. Angle the mirror as far down towards the ground as possible. If you can park so that the sun is shining from behind (it will make it easier to see the clips - top edge behind the mirror). Use the flat end of your chosen weapon to lift on clip and whilst holding this position, use the other (ask a friend to help if proving difficult) weapon to lift the other top clip. You should then be able to edge the top of the mirror away from the unit. If it doesn't pop off at this point, angle the mirror up and release the bottom one(s) in the same manner. It's quite easy really ![]() |

Offline | Old School Jonnie knows all about this - he managed to break his mirror glass using the dealer's advice on fitting the mirror caps - he was not a happy chappy! ![]() He then looked on here for advice and found the 'spoons' method worked a treat. ![]() He managed to get the dealer to replace his mirror glass free of charge, but they broke another two in the process. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Cheers Razor!! Definately go for the spoon handles! The MINI fitting guide shows removing the wing mirror glass first but this is a definite no go, the guy at the garage broke 2 whilst trying to fit and refit mine, I think they're rethinking the instructions now!! Hyper Blue/Black Cooper. Side skirts/Aero grill, Milltek, chrome bitz and a scary roof graphic. A SKATEBOARD IS FOR LIFE NOT JUST FOR CHRISTMAS |
