Offline | S gas cap install Well, plunked my S gas cap in yesterday. I got the "kit" from MiniMania. DON'T USE THEIR INSTRUCTIONS. I just used the online instructions on MCO/RSpeed. Much easier to follow. Put a couple of scratches on the edge trying to do the stupid tab trick that MM suggested. The MCO guide just says pry and yank with good padding. I also put a nick in it when my pry tool cut my padding so make sure your padding is nice and strong. I would definitely recommend a totally backward order to the install though. Don't try to remove the old door/hinge assembly without pulling the fuel filler neck back. 1) Jack the car. Leave the wheel on. You don't need to remove it. 2) Remove the inner liner as prescribed and just let it rest on the wheel. This will give you plenty of access to the nuts that hold the fuel filler neck. 3) Loosen the fuel filler neck and pull it back a little. This will let the 9-o'clock side of the stock fuel lid where the hinge is come right out with little effort. 4) Pry away the stock lid assebly carefully making sure to insulate the tool from the bodywork with a good strong pad. 5) Lock the new assembly in and push the fuel filler neck through. Bolt everything back together and you're done. Now I'm just waiting for my carbon fiber gas cap bezel! ![]() Reflex Racing Houston, TX |
