Offline | Alas I got the mudflaps from classic mini in 1 day! at a great price but no install instructions. It looks easy enough... unscrew the bottom where they go, attach the mudflap and screw the bottom screw in. But What do I do with the other two holes in the mudflaps? and what is the little plastic pieces besides the screws? they look to be some sort of anchor. Does any one have instructions, pictures or pointers? I want to make sure I do them right so they dont' fall.. I was also thinking of putting a bit of doublesided molding tape to keep them in place. All information provided will be very much appreciated. Happy Motoring! ivan |

Offline | I found this post to be very helpful and accurate when I installed mine. I ended up chucking the plastic anchors. When I tried to use one, the stem that you tap in to expand the anchor just bent and was then useless. I used screws instead just as the author of that post did. |

Offline | One more thing: if you don't want to remove the wheels, you don't have to. For each mudguard, you can drill one of the screwholes by turning the wheel all the way in one direction, and drill the other by turning the wheel all the way in the other direction. And you're just drilling through plastic, so even a cordless screwdriver with the right sized bit will be adequate to use, and probably easier to maneuver behind the wheel. |

| Somebody help me! | Here is a PDF that should help: http://www.bridger.us/mini/howto/Fro...ud%20Flaps.PDF Muprhy's take on Rallyes: Measurements will always be expressed in the least useable units. Velocity, for example, will be expressed in furlongs per fortnight. |

Offline | i installed the front mud flaps in 20 minutes. the trick, previously posted, is to turn the wheel twice for install on each side. for example: one the right front wheel turn the wheel to the far right for the first two screws, then to the far left for the last interior screw. the trick on the last screw is to get the drill inside the space behind the wheel as it is turned. the drilling is quite minimal and is only into the trim plastic, it requires no strength and very little accuracy. hope that helps. oh, cost of front flaps from my dealer at SF MINI: $11/pair. tools needed: reasonable sized drill with 2mm and 5mm bit (don't use the 6mm as suggested) a small ballpeen hammer to lightly tap in the plastic rivits a short phillips screwdriver (needed to screw in the bottom screw with only the car's ground clearance as space for the handle) hope that helps. cheers, averyocooper |

Offline | Hi, Can you tell me if drilling holes and screwing on the mudflaps penetrate or damage any metal bodywork beneath the plastic trim? The instructions show that the screw is quite deep, and it would appear to penetrate deep into the plastic moulding and possibly into the body work. Could you clarify this? Thanks G ![]() |

Offline | see my post above: "the drilling is quite minimal and is only into the trim plastic, it requires no strength and very little accuracy." you only are drilling into the trim plastic you don't touch the metal. -averyocooper |
