That is quite simply stunning. When can we get them in the UK???

I wonder how long it'll be before someone replaces all the external panels in CF. It's something that's been done a lot on bikes, and looks superb. I bet a full CF (black) MC(S) will look amazing.

The next step would be to include a kevlar or boron weave........

Oh be still my beating heart!!

It would be nice to know the weight difference between stock and CF.

I can understand the desire to lower weight but I, for the life of me, will never understand what is supposed to make CF look so good? having one body panel that doesn't match anything else on the car is ... well ... horrible IMO. Reminds me of old clunkers with mismatched panels one buys in a junkyard after a wreck. But then thats why life offers so many choices, to each their own.

From what I read here, on another thread, it saves a whole 2-5 lbs. That's if you don't paint it.
For that much money it better be the 15 lbs suggested in the thread on MCO.
Painting it should put a bit back on.

Cool tech though even if I wouldn't do it.

Hi guy's

I'm peter horvath the owner of.....M7, first of all thank you for all the kind words
it's been a journey to make this very complicated hood but we are finaly there.
About the weight difference....... stock hood 35lbs.....CF hood 19lbs a whopping 16lbs a very substancial difference.
I am currently looking for someone in Europe/GB to take on the distribution for this and many other M7 products please email me at.............. m7speed@earthlink.net
As for other body panels...all I can say is watch this space.

excellent, thanks for that information. Just a couple of things, can the carbon fibre hood come in various colours? or is that not possible with CF technology. I love the design and think it would look amazing on my silk green/black cooper. It would allow me more wieght for other things such as a strut brace etc. not to mention an increase in fuel efficiency. Also, do CF help distribute heat better? forgive my ignorance, but i'm still new to CF technology.

That's a significant weight diff, very nice.
How's the rigidity? Any flutter at speeds?

Good luck with this.

M7.....

Hello....
To color the resin I have to make a batch of hoods in the same color not impossible
but we have to get the first batch out to the market place. Now if you still want some tint on the hood a clear coat with a blue shade to it would do the job as well. The CF Hood will not hold the heat as much as metal and that could be an advantage.

M7......

The rigidity of the hood is fantastic no flutter at speed..... also we are using the stock closure hard ware so the hood is not going anywhere.

Thanks for the replys M7, are you planning on doing other panels as well or has the hood taken it's toll on your enthusiasm for CF?

Different color body panels are horrible? Like the 'mismatched' roof colors on MINI clunkers, you mean? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, i guess. I think the CF hood might look cool on my EB/B MCS, as it would likely appear visually consistent with the black roof. But that's just my opinion.
